A Homeless man is in a coma after being attacked last night

It’s believed to have happened around 8pm last night in a area were homeless sleep.

A homeless man is in a coma after being attacked and possibly stabbed in Grimsby town centre.

Humberside Police were called to Garden Street at  around 8pm last night after receiving calls that a man had been attacked by two masked men with what is believed to have been knives.

The incident is understood to have taken place in small area opposite Abbeygate car park were homeless people often stay.

The two attackers are reported to have been wearing balaclavas during the attack.

Following the attack, the injured man is believed to have made his way to McDonald’s in Victoria Street with the help of others, where the police and Paramedics and Ambulance services were called.

The victim was treated by paramedics at the restaurant before being taken to Hull Royal Infirmary.

It is understood that he has been placed in an induced coma due to the severity of his injuries.

The victim is believed to be a homeless man living in Grimsby town centre.

Local emergency services rescue a vulnerable man from Weelsby woods tonight

A lady dog Walker came across the man after hearing shouting and screams in the pitch black of the woods.

Local emergency services have tonight rescued a vulnerable man from Weelsby woods.

Humberside police, Humberside fire service and rescue Coastguard and paramedics were called earlier to try locate the man.

Earlier this evening a lady who walking her dog heard shouts and screams coming out the pitch darkness and came across the vulnerable man.

The lady managed to contact emergency services who headed to the woods to try locate the man.

After a while some of the emergency services emerged with man on a stretcher who was brought to an awaiting ambulance for a bot of treatment, before being rushed away to hospital.

Whoever the lady was walking her dog, She has no doubt saved this mans life, It would of been very doubtful if he would of survived the freezing conditions tonight.

A big thank you to the lady who has no doubt saved this mans life he she hadn’t come across him.

Armed Police Descended on Oxford Street Grimsby Last Night Following Serious Incident.

Up to six armed response units and dog units rushed to the Lifestyle Express store on Oxford Street Grimsby following a suspected robbery and assault.

It is believed to have been an attempted robbery and serious assault.

Paramedics were treating a man at the scene Who was down in the doorway of the store and then transferred to a waiting ambulance to taken to hospital.

Humberside Police issued a statement.

We recieved a called to a serious incident on Oxford Street Grimsby around 7.40pm last night.

A man was seriously assaulted in the Lifestyle Express Store and was treated at the scene by paramedics and then transferred to a waiting ambulance to be taken to hospital.

It’s not believed to be life threatening injuries.

Man trapped in roof space of Tesco Hewitts Circus this afternoon taken to hospital by air ambulance

The Man is believed to have been trapped since around 2pm Emergency services are on scene including Air ambulance personnel.

A man was trapped this afternoon in a roof space at the rear of Tescos Hewitts circus this afternoon.

Emergency services were called just after 2pm with reports of a man becoming stuck in a roof space.

Fireservice, land ambulance paramedics and the air ambulance all arrived at the scene to help with the man.

The Ambulance service released this statement

A spokesman for East Midlands Ambulance Service: “We received a call at 2.02pm to Hewitts Circus Retail Park in Cleethorpes.

The caller reported a medical emergency. We sent a paramedic in a fast response car, a road ambulance and an air ambulance. We are currently still on scene.

It is believed the man had fallen from the roof and become stuck in a void in the roof.

Emergency services worked to get the man out and treat him, Before he was brought down.

He was then taken to the air ambulance which then took off and took the man to hospital.

Man arrested last night after two hour rooftop standoff on Hainton Avenue

Police had to seal part of Hainton Avenue last night around 9-15pm after a man took to the roof of a dental practice on the street.

Seven police vehicles had cordoned off the area as the man started throwing roof tiles at the officers.

There was also a paramedic car waiting at the scene to treat the man for any injuries he may of had when he came down.

At this time it’s not known why he went up on the roof. Police officers were asking him to come down from the roof , But every time they did , he would shout down to them and throw tiles at the officers.

Members of public even tried to get the man to come down but he just ignored them and carry on throwing tiles.

Police negotiators arrived at the scene and went around to the rear of the building to talk to the man and try get him to come down but he wouldn’t listen at that time.

A police van went down the rear of the property in preparation for the man to be taken away. Police negotiators went down the alley to talk to the man but after a few minutes had to come out because the man started to throw more tiles down at them and near to the police van.

Eventually around 10.50pm the man was talked down.At this point the paramedic car went down the alley to treat the man before he was taken away in the van and in to custody.

Couple were attacked by mob with machetes and bats and axe

This happened on Carnforth crescent on Tuesday night

A man has described how his mum and stepfather were attacked by a gang from behind with bats, machetes and an axe. 

The man and woman are currently in Hull Royal Infirmary being treated for head injuries following the incident on Carnforth Crescent on Tuesday night. 

The son, who does not wish to be named, said the couple were just leaving a friend’s house on The Grange estate just before 7pm, when they were “attacked from behind” by a group of up to 12 people armed with bats, machetes and an axe, which left them with serious head injuries.

The lad said his mum has had to have 30 stitches in her head due to a large cut that she suffered above her eye, while her partner has been stabbed in the stomach twice and received a large axe wound to the back of his head.

Both remain in hospital Hull Royal Infirmary where they are still recovering , The step-dad has also had to undergo surgery.

The son said: “My mum and her partner were round at a friend’s house on the Grange when they were confronted by this lad who started having a go at them. He quickly drove away after they stood up to him and they thought nothing more of it.

“Then as they were leaving the house, they were attacked from behind with bats, machetes and even an axe.

One man has been charged in connection with the incident and two others have been released under investigation.

Police said Jonathan West, 27, of Redbourne Road, Grimsby, appeared at Grimsby magistrates court yesterday charged with a public order offence.

Detective Sergeant Ian Potter said: “Enquiries are ongoing and I would like to appeal to anyone with any information about the disorder to get in touch.  

“This includes anyone with CCTV footage or video recorded on a mobile device showing the incident.
