A woman has been cut from a car tonight following Serious RTC on Scartho Road

The crash happened around 6.30pm between a white BMW and a grey Renault Clio.

 

Emergency services were called to a serious Rtc tonight on Scartho road.

The crash happened between a white BMW and a grey Renault Clio.

As a result a woman had to be cut free from the Clio.

Humberside fire service had up to 4 appliances on scene along with the Ambulance service and paramedics.

Police sealed off the road from Nunns corner and from the Sutcliffe Ave junction.

The woman was cut free eventually from the car and was put on to a stretcher before being put in to an awaiting ambulance to receive treatment before being taken to the hospital for more treatment.

Fire service personnel started to clean up the debris as two recovery vehicles came to take the vehicles away.

Humberside police say a man has died on Roberts Street this afternoon.

The mans death is not believed to be suspicious.

Humberside Police confirm man has died and is being treated as unexplained at this time.

A spokesman said: “Officers are in attendance at Roberts Street after the death of a man.

We were called by the ambulance service at 1.30pm today after the man was confirmed dead.

At this stage the death is not being treated as suspicious but is being treated as unexplained.” Officers leading the investigation appealed for anyone with information to contact Humberside Police non-emergency number 101 quoting incident number 281 of today.

Serious assault on man in tent

A man was taken to hospital for treatment after he was allegedly assaulted by two men in Grimsby.

It happened around 8.30pm on Monday 9 December off Garden Street behind the Iceland supermarket. 

It’s thought the suspects assaulted the victim, who lives in a tent, with a blunt instrument. 

It left him with injuries to his head, arms, and back. The man was treated in hospital and has since been discharged. 

We are looking for any witnesses or anyone who might have any information to contact us.

A man was taken to hospital with abdominal injuries after an alleged assault and robbery in Grimsby during which he had his clothes taken off him.

It happened around 8pm on Tuesday 3 December on Boulevard Avenue.

It was reported that three men had approached the victim from behind, kicked and punched him to the floor. They stole his jumper, trousers and trainers before running away.

Driver charged with causing death by dangerous driving

A 31yr old man has been charged this morning.

Mark Batty who was tragically killed.

A 31-year-old man has been charged with a number of offences including causing death by dangerous driving following a fatal road traffic collision in Grimsby.

Anton Watson from Bowers Avenue, Grimsby has been charged with six offences including death by dangerous driving, failing to report an accident, failing to stop, failing to provide a specimen for analysis, and driving while disqualified and without the correct insurance.

It follows an incident reported to us on Scartho Road on the night of Saturday 7 December just before midnight. A man was found seriously injured in the street who sadly later died in hospital.

Anton Watson is due to appear at Grimsby Magistrates Court today.

The deceased man, who was a pedestrian, has been named by his family as Mark Andrew Batty, 41, from Grimsby. Mr Batty’s family are being supported by officers.

We would like to thank everyone who has helped with our appeal so far, but we’re still appealing to anyone who might have seen what happened, might have CCTV or dash cam footage, or who saw a red Ford Focus in the area around the time to contact us.

Officers are appealing for witnesses after a man has died following a collision on Scartho Road, Grimsby yesterday evening, Saturday 8 December

We were called to reports that a man had been found in the street with serious injuries, near to St Martins Service Station, shortly after 11.50pm. Emergency services attended and the man was taken to hospital, where he sadly died.

Investigations are underway and it is believed that a red Ford Focus collided with the man, who was a pedestrian at the time of the collision.

A 31-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident, he remains in our custody whilst enquiries continue.

Officers are appealing for anyone that saw what happened, or saw a red Ford Focus in the area to get in touch.

We would also like to hear from anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area, as this may assist with our enquiries.

Suspect wanted in connection with robbery at Grimsby shop

We want to trace a man in connection with an incident of robbery at a Grimsby shop during which a shop worker was allegedly threatened.

It happened at the business on Farebrother Street around 7pm on Friday 29 November. 

A man wearing dark clothing, a black puffa jacket with the hood up, and a scarf around his face demanded that the woman behind the counter open the till. It’s said he was holding what looked like a blade at the time.

The shop assistant ran into a back room to call the police, while the suspect stole a quantity of cigarettes and tobacco before leaving. 

He was on a bike and believed to have ridden off down Patrick Street under the subway towards Hainton Avenue.
