A woman has been cut from a car tonight following Serious RTC on Scartho Road

The crash happened around 6.30pm between a white BMW and a grey Renault Clio.


Emergency services were called to a serious Rtc tonight on Scartho road.

The crash happened between a white BMW and a grey Renault Clio.

As a result a woman had to be cut free from the Clio.

Humberside fire service had up to 4 appliances on scene along with the Ambulance service and paramedics.

Police sealed off the road from Nunns corner and from the Sutcliffe Ave junction.

The woman was cut free eventually from the car and was put on to a stretcher before being put in to an awaiting ambulance to receive treatment before being taken to the hospital for more treatment.

Fire service personnel started to clean up the debris as two recovery vehicles came to take the vehicles away.

Humberside police say a man has died on Roberts Street this afternoon.

The mans death is not believed to be suspicious.

Humberside Police confirm man has died and is being treated as unexplained at this time.

A spokesman said: “Officers are in attendance at Roberts Street after the death of a man.

We were called by the ambulance service at 1.30pm today after the man was confirmed dead.

At this stage the death is not being treated as suspicious but is being treated as unexplained.” Officers leading the investigation appealed for anyone with information to contact Humberside Police non-emergency number 101 quoting incident number 281 of today.

Update to assault on Cobden street Freeman street last night

Police and East Midlands ambulance service were called around 9.45pm after reports of an assault.

A woman is believed to have assaulted last night on Cobden street near to Freeman street.

Police and the ambulance service arrived on the scene and police cordoned off parts of the street.

The woman was placed into the ambulance to receive treatment before being taken away to hospital for more treatment.

A Humberside Police spokesperson , ” stated We are currently investingating an alleged assault of a woman in Cobden street/ Freeman street around 9.40pm last night Sunday 28 July

The woman had a open head wound and was taken to hospital for further treatment.

It happened around 7.45 pm tonight involving a black Volvo S6

The Emergency services have been at the scene of a serious crash in Hainton Avenue in Grimsby tonight.

It is believed one woman, the driver of the van, has been injured in the accident and was believed to have been trapped.

Another vehicle, a Volvo being driven by a man, was also involved but isnt badly damaged.

The van was believed to have left the road, crossed the pavement and collided with the low wall of a house on the street.

It suffered serious damage in the impact and the woman driver was believed to have been trapped.

First at the scene were two Humberside fire engines who quickly begun to look after the trapped woman in the van.

Around 40 minutes later paramedics and Ambulance crews arrived to deal with the accident.

At around 8.45pm the woman was freed from the vehicle and taken to an ambulance for further treatment.

Grimsby man dies following suspected ‘medical episode on Patrick Street

 A man who was found unconscious in an alleyway in Grimsby yesterday Tuesday 21 May has sadly died overnight. 

The man has not been formally identified yet but we believe him to be a 28-year-old from Latvia. He was found collapsed off Patrick Street around 5.20pm. 

He was taken to hospital in a critical condition but sadly died in the early hours of this morning. It’s thought his death was caused by an underlying medical condition. 

We are not treating his death as suspicious and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this. 

The Latvian Embassy has been informed and we are now in the process of trying to trace his family. 

A report is being prepared for the Coroner.

Appeal for witnesses to serious Rtc last night on Rendel st

Appeal for witnesses to serious collision on Rendel St, Grimsby.

Yesterday at 6.50pm we were called to a serious collision between a Yamaha YQ Aerox 50cc moped and a blue Mitsubishi ASX3 car.

There were two people young people on the moped, a 15 year-old boy and a 12 year-old girl, neither of whom were wearing helmets.

The moped collided with the car at the junction of Rendel Street with Armstrong Street in Grimsby.

Both the rider and passenger of the moped sustained serious injuries.

The 12 year-old girl has suffered potentially life-changing injuries.

Couple were attacked by mob with machetes and bats and axe

This happened on Carnforth crescent on Tuesday night

A man has described how his mum and stepfather were attacked by a gang from behind with bats, machetes and an axe. 

The man and woman are currently in Hull Royal Infirmary being treated for head injuries following the incident on Carnforth Crescent on Tuesday night. 

The son, who does not wish to be named, said the couple were just leaving a friend’s house on The Grange estate just before 7pm, when they were “attacked from behind” by a group of up to 12 people armed with bats, machetes and an axe, which left them with serious head injuries.

The lad said his mum has had to have 30 stitches in her head due to a large cut that she suffered above her eye, while her partner has been stabbed in the stomach twice and received a large axe wound to the back of his head.

Both remain in hospital Hull Royal Infirmary where they are still recovering , The step-dad has also had to undergo surgery.

The son said: “My mum and her partner were round at a friend’s house on the Grange when they were confronted by this lad who started having a go at them. He quickly drove away after they stood up to him and they thought nothing more of it.

“Then as they were leaving the house, they were attacked from behind with bats, machetes and even an axe.

One man has been charged in connection with the incident and two others have been released under investigation.

Police said Jonathan West, 27, of Redbourne Road, Grimsby, appeared at Grimsby magistrates court yesterday charged with a public order offence.

Detective Sergeant Ian Potter said: “Enquiries are ongoing and I would like to appeal to anyone with any information about the disorder to get in touch.  

“This includes anyone with CCTV footage or video recorded on a mobile device showing the incident.

Police have released a statement confirming that the body is that of man.

Humberside Police said, “It’s thought the man who is in 30s, hadn’t been in the water very long.

CSI arrive earlier at the scene.

Police say their enquiries are at a very early stage and we are currently treating the mans death as unexplained at this present time.

The Body has been moved and will be getting examined by a Home Office pathologist today. It’s believed this will happen in Hull.
