Knuckle Knife and class A drugs seized by police
A four-inch long ‘knuckle knife’ and class A drugs have been seized after a suspected drugs deal was spotted by patrol officers in Grimsby.
A member of the public approached officers who were on foot patrol yesterday afternoon Monday 9 December to report an incident of suspicious behaviour near Rutland Street.
A woman and a man both aged 47 were stopped by officers and searched. The knife and drugs thought to be heroin and cocaine were found and seized. The drugs are believed to be worth around £40-£50.
Both were arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A drug. The man was also arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon.
They have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
Neighbourhoods Sergeant Dan Healey said: “I’m glad this knife has now been taken off the streets as well as the illegal drugs.
“I want to thank the member of the public who passed on the information, which led us to making the two arrests and seizing the items.
“By working together in this way, it really does help us all tackle criminality in our communities.”
