Driver charged with causing death by dangerous driving
A 31yr old man has been charged this morning.
A 31-year-old man has been charged with a number of offences including causing death by dangerous driving following a fatal road traffic collision in Grimsby.
Anton Watson from Bowers Avenue, Grimsby has been charged with six offences including death by dangerous driving, failing to report an accident, failing to stop, failing to provide a specimen for analysis, and driving while disqualified and without the correct insurance.
It follows an incident reported to us on Scartho Road on the night of Saturday 7 December just before midnight. A man was found seriously injured in the street who sadly later died in hospital.
Anton Watson is due to appear at Grimsby Magistrates Court today.
The deceased man, who was a pedestrian, has been named by his family as Mark Andrew Batty, 41, from Grimsby. Mr Batty’s family are being supported by officers.
