Appeal to trace potentially injured man following serious collision
Hes believed to be potentially injured after the crash
We are worried for the welfare of a man who we think might have been seriously injured in a road traffic collision in Grimsby in the early hours of this morning.
A silver Ford Focus collided with a black Suzuki SX4 at the junction of Littlefield Lane and Dudley Street around 2am.
The man was travelling in the Ford left the scene. We believe him to be Karlis Jekabsons, 21, from Grimsby. A photograph of Mr Jekabsons is available.
Three other men and a woman who were also in the Focus sustained serious injuries. They are receiving treatment in hospital.
A woman passenger who was in the Suzuki suffered serious injuries to her wrist and abdomen and was also taken to hospital. The man driving sustained minor injuries.
Detective Inspector Kerry Bull from Grimsby CID said: “There were five people in total in the Ford Focus, four who were seriously injured.
“My main concern at this moment is to make sure the man who left the scene is ok. My worry is that he might have been injured as well but hasn’t sought treatment yet.
“If that’s the case I would ask him to do so as a matter of urgency to get the care he needs.
“We have arrested the other four people who were in the Ford on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking and our investigations are continuing.
“If you saw anything, saw the Ford Focus in the Rendell Street or Earl Street areas prior to this collision, or have any information please contact us quoting log 39 of 5 June 2019.”
