Hossam Metwally has been in custody but has been given bail until his trial following the incident at the Lincs Pain Clinic on Laceby Road
The doctor had been on remand since July having been charged with grievous bodily harm and administering a noxious substance to his former partner.
The nurse was found in an unconscious condition and was taken to the Diana Princess of Wales hospital.
The case was adjourned until February 10 for trial, provisionally estimated at 10 days.
Metwally, of Laceby Road, Grimsby, had been in custody since bail was refused at the magistrates’ court on July 8.
