Man was detained in Asda car park after abandoning a vehicle believed to have been stolen earlier.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and driving offences in Grimsby this morning (Sunday, June 16).

We were called at around 9.30am today after the occupants of a property in Park Ward area awoke to discover there had been a break-in and that two blue Nissans – a Qashqai and a Micra – had been taken from the drive.

Our officers brought the car safely to a stop in Asda car park and a man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and a number of driving offences.

He remains in our custody, helping us with our enquiries.
